Our travel Top 5 ✈

From national parks to historic cities, glaciers to postcard-like beaches... We always tried to make our travels as diverse as possible to discover different sides of this beautiful world. We loved them all for different reasons but here are the 5 places that we will never forget and you should definitely see in 2018. Take note!

1) ICELAND

Our trip to Iceland is definitely one we will hardly forget. We spent 10 days away from civilisation, driving through stunning sceneries, admiring the geysers explode and walking behind waterfalls. We even swam in natural springs and went on a boat tour of a glacier! When we finally got to Reykjavik, it felt unreal to be surrounded by buildings. Iceland has a whole lot to offer, if you want to read more about our experience there and even watch a little video we made, head to our Iceland blog post! 👇

2) CANADA

We went on a tour of Eastern Canada in 2014 and were absolutely mesmerised by its beauty. This country has both spectacular cities and stunning natural wonders. It's the best of both worlds! We LOVED the Algonquin Provincial Park with all its lakes and the many animals we got to see. Our favourite city there was definitely Quebec City. We only had a couple of days there but wow we fell for it! It is quite close to Europe in terms of architecture with little cafés and restaurants everywhere. This tour made us fascinated with Canada and we're looking forward to exploring the Western coast next time.

3) MALAYSIA

There are sooo many reasons why Malaysia should be on your 2018 bucket list. This country is experiencing a quick development and for this reason in Kuala Lumpur you will find a mix of new and old architecture. The surrounding towns still maintain a lot of historical buildings and many of them are even UNESCO Heritage sites.

In 2015 we visited Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Malacca, spent 2 days in Singapore AND a week on the gorgeous island of Pulau Perhentian Besar. For the first part of our trip, we had an amazing local guide driving us around, showing the different sites, telling us loads of stories and taking us to the best restaurants. We would totally recommend doing it as it is a very affordable way to make the most of your Malaysian experience. Talking about affordable, here's another reason why you should go to Malaysia... It is SO cheap! We literally felt like queens the whole time eating gourmet food at fast food prices.

4) TANZANIA

Tanzania was our last trip and it already made it to our top 5. Why? Mostly because of the great people we met there. As soon as we arrived, we felt extremely welcomed by the locals who were eager to chat, learn about our culture and show us theirs. Secondly, THE COLOURS! Those greens and blues were simply beautiful and the sunsets looked like paintings. It was our first time in that part of Africa so we had never seen anything like that. Even though we visited only Zanzibar, we are planning to go to the natural parks in mainland Tanzania and see all the animal we've only ever seen in zoos.

5) UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

We visited the UAE for Angelica's 18th birthday and arrived in Abu Dhabi during the 40th National Day celebrations. We got stuck in traffic in the middle of confettis, foam and flags and it took us so long to get to the hotel! As you might know, Abu Dhabi is home to the most photographed Mosque in the world, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. And that reputation is definitely well-earned, the building is so magical and peaceful!

We then moved on to Dubai... Why visit Dubai? Well the reasons are infinite! This city is so extreme and peculiar in many ways. You'd never get tired of exploring its landmarks, here's what we did in just a few days:
- went on top of the tallest building in the world,
- had a Japanese afternoon tea in the Burj al-Arab, one of the most luxurious hotels in the world,
- went shopping in the biggest shopping mall in the world,
- went skiing... in a shopping mall!
- had a stroll in the world's largest man-made island.

Wow that was an eventful week!

BONUS COUNTRY: ITALY 😉

Ok, we might be a bit biased here but in the past few years we got to know our country better and have fallen more deeply in love with it! There are so many amazing places and we always get amazed by the beauty of it. In 2017 alone, we have been to Milan, Bologna, Venice, Rimini, Modena the Aosta Valley and Lake Maggiore. If you want to visit Italy but don't have much time we would definitely recommend Bologna and Florence. Oh, and you might be interesting in reading about that time we visited 6 Italian cities in 6 days! If so, head to our post about it 👇
